On 30 October 20009, the Ravninnoe Oil LLP (in which Canamens has a 32.5% interest) spudded the Rav-20 well on the Ravninnoe Contract Area.

The well will be drilled near the centre of the Ravninnoe structure and is targeted to reach a total depth of 3800m. 

This is the first well to be drilled on the Contract Area since the 1980's.  The well is designed to acquire sufficient information about the reservoir architecture, quality and productivity to enable the development of the Field to proceed.
